  My rabbits were registered with this practice, as the receptionist informed me that they have a vet who has a special interest in rabbits. Despite that claim, the vets failed to inform me that my rabbit has cataracts and failed to provide Filavac, the reason given was that they provided Nobivac Myxo-RHD! When my rabbit had trigeminal nerve damage causing an asymmetric face, Christina Fundatianu informed me that my rabbit had a dental abscess and an unnecessary dental exam was carried out by an inexperienced vet, after I had been informed that the purpose of the re-visit was to see a senior vet. I had informed Erika Moon that I thought that my rabbit might have a middle ear infection, but she did not x-ray the rabbit (which I assumed Christina had done in order to reach her diagnosis). The vets guessed rather than consulted with a more knowledgeable vet or made a referral- they did not contact Richard Saunders until I suggested it, after I had become suspicious that they did not know what was wrong with my rabbit. Laurence Brown suggested E Cuniculi, although my rabbit showed no symptoms of it! My rabbit was left without pain relief and was not referred to an exotics specialist until 40 days after she had first seen Christina, by which time the infection had spread to her temperomandibular joint, causing arthritis. My rabbit would have been in pain, as she had an ear infection that required a bilateral bulla osteotomy. She was, unnecessarily, referred to Wiltshire, when there were nearer specialists who dealt with such cases. Erika Moon failed to read the discharge and post operative care information from the referral vet. She informed me that my rabbit cannot see, which is untrue. My rabbit continued to lose weight, failed to eat caecotrophs and despite a temperature of 37.4˚C and having been warned by the referral vet about Gastrointestinal (GI) Stasis in the letter that she did not read, Erika Moon did nothing and discharged her after just 3 post-op checks. I had to contact the referral vet regarding advice about my rabbit's medication. My rabbit developed potentially fatal GI Stasis; I had to find a vet practice willing to provide her with her post operative care and Ashby Road staff repeatedly failed to provide them with my rabbit's clinical records. The tone of the manager's response to my complaint was absolutely vile; she dishonestly claimed that my rabbit had showed no signs of bilateral ear canal abscessation (the referral vet was able to feel them when he examined my rabbit) and that, 'Erika went above and beyond the normal level of service for you in locating a referral centre'. Additionally and unprofessionally, Laurence Brown decided that, 'In view of the degree of upset caused to Erika in receiving your, in his opinion unfounded complaint letter, he also feels that it would be in everyone's interest if you were to obtain veterinary services for your animals elsewhere in future. He has asked for a note to such effect to be placed on your file.' The RCVS informed me that, 'Dr Moon's conduct would not fall far below the standard expected. The CEG noted that it is not appropriate for Dr Moon to be compared against Mr Forbes who is a specialist in exotic animals'. I use a specialist exotics vet in Leicestershire now; he informed me that the weight loss and lack of eating caecotrophs is likely to be because my rabbit has bilateral facial paralysis (that went unnoticed by Erika Moon), provided advice regarding weight gain, reviews her pain relief and provides follow-up appointments. There is no comparison between the facilities, professionalism, knowledge, care, helpfulness and attitudes of the staff at Chine House and those at Ashby Road. Don't believe Ashby Road's receptionists that they cater for rabbits- always take exotics to an exotics vet, not to a small animal vet, as the latter don't seem to refer/ seek advice from more knowledgeable vets when necessary, ignoring the Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Surgeons.
